Dear Patients, Friends and Colleagues:
On behalf of our entire team, I want you to know how much we appreciate your support of our dental office over the past 41 years. After much thought and consideration, I have decided it is time for me to add a highly qualified doctor to the team. This will allow me to begin cutting back my working hours, as I eventually approach full retirement. This decision was made much easier due to finding a compassionate and highly skilled clinician in Dr. John Drisdale. I am very confident in Dr. Drisdale’s clinical skills, education, and ability to relate to my staff and patients. Dr. Drisdale is committed to my philosophy of providing high quality dental care to everyone that walks through the door. We have had discussions regarding his philosophy, training and practice, and they are eerily similar to mine. He has met my staff, and they too are excited to have him join our team. I feel so lucky and honored that I found what I believe to be the perfect addition to the practice. Our schedule will remain similar to my current one, allowing for Dr. Drisdale to integrate into the practice and take over when I retire.
Dr. Drisdale graduated from Austin College with a degree in Economics. After graduating from college, he attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. He is a published author in the International Journal of Dentistry with a topic entitled Specific Central Nervous System Medications are Associated with Temporomandibular Joint Symptoms. I hope to learn more from him when it comes to TMJ issues! Dr. Drisdale has completed over 500 hours of continuing dental education, and is on track to achieve the title: “Master of the Academy of General Dentistry”. In addition, Dr. Drisdale lectures dentists and hygienists for certification in the use of lasers in dental treatments. Dr. Drisdale comes to us by way of the San Marcos Gentle Dental office, where he provided a variety of dental treatments and care to his patients. John has participated in numerous Texas Mission of Mercy events around Texas, and has traveled to the Dominican Republic as a volunteer dentist, where he treated the needy there.
On a personal note, John is a native Texan, who grew up in Lakeway, TX. His father lived in Midland and his grandfather was a petroleum engineer with Texaco. He has other family members who currently live in Midland. John is married to his wife, Monica, whom he met in 2005. They have a rescue dog named Waffles who is a Boston Terrier. John likes to golf and cookout with family and friends.
It is an honor being in charge of your dental needs, and we look forward to continuing to provide you with the highest level of service in a warm and caring environment. Thank you for continuing to support me, our staff, and Dr. Drisdale during this transition. We look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.
Robert E. Christensen, D.D.S
